Latest Sony Smart laptop Features

Netbooks the next big small thing

The Sony VAIO P Series weighs just 0.6kg.

Tiny laptops could soon be as ubiquitous as mobile phones as computer makers continue to refine their cheap "netbook" machines with new features including touch-screens and GPS navigation.

The laptops - which have screens measuring 10 inches (25cm) or less and weigh around 1kg - are pitched at people who want to be able to surf the web on the go and always have access to email and social networking sites.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Sony upped the ante by unveiling a mini-laptop with a twist. The Sony VAIO P Series is slightly more expensive than the typical netbook.
"It fits into my jacket pocket," said Sony global CEO Sir Howard Stringer during his CES keynote speech.
A speedier processor allows users to watch high-definition video and run multiple programs at the same time, whereas a typical netbook struggles to even play YouTube videos smoothly.
The US version includes a built-in GPS and wireless broadband, but Sony Australia's VAIO marketing manager, Kent Tanigaki, said the Australian model would initially lack both those features as they had not yet been tested on Australian networks.
Tanigaki was quick to reject any suggestions the VAIO P Series, which is an 8-inch (20cm) widescreen model, was a netbook.
"Once we say it's a netbook people think that it's cheap and lousy - we want stylish and cool," he said.
Asus, which pioneered the netbook category with its line of Eee PCs, showed off a new touch-screen model, the T91, with a screen that swivels into the tablet format. It is available in 8.9-inch and 10-inch screen sizes.
Asus notebook product manager Ray Lai said the company was developing new touch-screen software for the computer that will include a revamped touch-friendly menu for accessing applications and iPhone-style gesture controls.
The laptop was expected to launch in Australia in the first half of this year.
Also at CES, HP unveiled its new Mini netbook, which includes a 10.1-inch screen, an almost full-sized keyboard and a battery life of eight hours, which is longer than most competitors.
Making it easier to hop online while on the go, Lenovo has upgraded its S10 netbook line to include a new feature called HyperSpace, which lets users access basic applications such as email, web browser and instant messaging without having to boot into Windows.
Meanwhile, Taiwan-based computer maker MSI updated its Wind netbook with a larger 160GB hard drive and a built-in 3G wireless broadband modem.
Sony Laptop
The Sony Corporation was founded in 1946 in Tokyo, Japan, and is one of the largest media mogoles in the world.  The Sony Corporation is just one part of what is called the Sony Group.  The group consists of different divisions, these divisions are electronics, games, video game consoles, communications, and IT.  It offers the highest quality in each of these groups, and has for a long time.  Sony has been making computer electronics since the immergence of computers themselves.

The Sony VAIO notebooks are great laptops that allow for the user to pretty much replace their desktop with it.  Although Sony doesn't have that many different version of laptops they still offer desktop comparable laptops at very affordable prices.  Their laptops have spectacular capabilities that will allow you to do anything you need to from them without losing performance and other great features for desktops.  Although there are less versions you can choose from there are still opportunities that allow you to upgrade them with whatever you may want and need to be on your laptop.  Here are some specs. that will be able to choose from on the Sony VAIO laptops.
P Series
The P Series laptop is the smallest laptop that Sony makes.  Though they are quite small they still pack a punch.  The unit only weighs 1.4 pounds and uses a 8 inch view screen.  You can get up to a 2.0 Ghz processor, 2 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB hard drive.  These are great specs. for a laptop that is so small.  It also allows you to have a maximum of about 3.5 hours of run time on a single charge.  This is a great computer that allows you to do things that you need when you are not around your desktop computer.

Sony has launched what it today claimed is the world's lightest 12.1in notebook, an 898g machine constructed out of carbon fibre, though the weight pushes past 1kg if you want a machine with a bigger battery capacity and an optical drive.
sony japan's lightweight vaio g1
The Vaio G series comprises more than half a dozen models aimed at different segments of the Japanese market - consumers, build-to-order, big business, small business etc. - but common to them all is an Intel ultra-low voltage Core Solo processor, 512MB of memory, 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, motion-sensor protected hard drive, and a 12.1in, 1,024 x 768 display.
