History
The earlier ceiling fans were invented in 1800 and at that time electricity wasn’t used to rotate the blades, and rather water was used for production of necessary power to drive the blades of the ceiling fan. Huge turbines were used to produce power for various applications. At that time, fans had only two blades (wings) and they were used at the places, which were very close to water streams.
Types of Ceiling Fans
Plenty of ceiling fans are available in amazingly vivid styles and shapes.
Currently, there are three, four, and five blade fans, produced to cater to the needs of rooms of vivid sizes. The fan comes in width of minimum 24-inches, and the width extends up to 70-inches. Some of the ceiling fans are attached with light systems, and come in excellent fancy designs to add to the aesthetics of the room.

Working Principle of Ceiling Fan
A ceiling fan is connected to ceiling of a room, and it has an electric motor located at the center. Whenever you switch on the fan, electric motor causes the blades of the fan to rotate, and with the help of a condenser present in the fan, the rotation speed can be controlled.
Blades of fan are twisted to a particular angle for cutting the air in desired angles, so that it is pushed downwards with maximum force.
Operation of Ceiling Fan
Any ceiling fan can’t substitute air conditioners and/or heaters, as it can’t control the temperature of room; its job is only to push the air down, not to cool or heat it!
Hence, the nature of produced air may depend upon the climatic condition of the room. However, if you want to get cool air from ceiling fan even when the temperature is high, you can make the surface wet.
