latest dell LCD features

The big news for the '3008WFP' is that it comes with what is sure to be the centre of 2008's connectivity PR blitz: DisplayPort. The cheaper, licence-less HDMI rival - which also manages to pump HD video and audio through a single cable - makes arguably its most high profile debut so far, though that isn't to overshadow this monster's other charms.
Dell has all bases covered on the 3008WFP with a native 2560 x 1600 resolution, impressive 370 nits brightness, 3000:1 contrast ratio and proportionately lightning-fast 8ms response time. Backing up DisplayPort are DVI-D (with HDCP), S-Video, component and composite along with HDMI (clearly the two will be squabbling stable mates for some time to come).
Funnily enough.

Dell lcd

As Dell looks to reposition itself in the market and seek out new niches, one very promising showcase item is their Super Slim Display Port.  Dell says this monitor can get 4x HDTV resolution and it is coming this year.  Who knew Dell could be this cool?
Not merely a wispy monitor, Dell incorporates audio, microphone, video, and other peripherals into one bi-directional cable.  By reducing the amount of converters, Dell can achieve the 1/2” panel depth.  Expect Dell to work this technology into Laptops as well.

Dell seems to be ramping up the home products space. I guess they are tired of being considered the staple, boring office computer company. Now they are trying to hammer on the display market. And their latest creation, the Dell Crystal LCD monitor fits the bill.
Dell has been moving the Crystal through various trade shows as a concept. But, now it is available to average consumer. Here are the relevant specs:

  • 22-Inch WXGA 1680 x 1050 HD Display – Provides stunning detail with a 98% color gamut for more color shades and tones.

  • 2-Millisecond Response Time (typical) – Reduces ghosting and imaging associated with movement for fluid motion.

  • 2000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio – Get dark blacks, sharp images, crisp text, brilliant color saturation and greater life-like detail.

  • Webcam – Miniature 2-megapixel webcam is stylishly inconspicuous.

  • Integrated Speakers – Speakers are integrated into the Dell Crystal’s sleek frame with subtly wired sound circuitry that’s encapsulated in a handsome metal enclosure.
